Q4 set for strong job performance

Filed under: Risk Management — Mark on September 17, 2012

Many employers in the UK are now taking on employees, which hasn’t been the case in the last four years. This is in spite of the largely negative financial climate.
The outlook of jobs in the country is also the highest since before 2008’s crunch, according to Manpower UK. So professionals on the lookout for pen testing jobs, risk management vacancies and other positions have cause to be optimistic.

The Outlook Survey evaluated answers from the 2,100 employers in the UK that took part. It asked whether businesses plan on taking on additional staff or reducing workforce capacity in the next economic quarter. The survey is regarded as the most forward-looking and comprehensive of this kind. It is also seen as an important financial statistic by the Government, as well as by the Bank of England. The +3% national Seasonally Adjusted Net Employment Outlook signifies that the employment market is in a good place right now.

Manpower Group Solutions Managing Director, James Hick, told On Rec:

“We’ve been saying that the jobs market is heading in the right direction since the beginning of the year. Understandably this has been met with scepticism because of the disappointing GDP figures. However in recent months the official employment statistics have started to catch up with our predictions.”

Although these figures are certainly a positive, issues remain attached. Today’s labour market is a complex one and employees have been warned that job vacancies today come in numerous guises. Hick said that there are rarely opportunities to have one job role for life and businesses require flexibility in terms of recruiting, which may result in applying for jobs that pay purely on sales delivered.
