More employers expressing intention to hire more workers

Filed under: Risk Management — Jonathan on June 4, 2013

The most recent Recruitment and Employment Confederation JobsOutlook report reveals an increase in employers planning to hire more members of staff. The tracking survey, which occurs every month, shows that the largest increase has taken place among employers intending to hire further permanent employees in the next three months – a four per cent increase from April. If you’re seeking information security jobs, risk management vacancies or other positions in your respective industry, you just may find that the demand for your services will increase in the next quarter.

JobsOutlook reports on the opinions of 600 bosses, surveyed about their intentions regarding the hiring of employees over the following quarter and coming year. Those who are chosen to take part in the survey are drawn from the private, non-profit and public sectors, and cover a number of organisation sizes and industries.

Kevin Green, chief executive from REC, said:

“Our data predicts jobs growth will return. While the current economic situation is still challenging for many businesses there are also some positive signs. Although the recovery has been gradual, the UK has avoided the very high levels of unemployment seen elsewhere on the continent and employer confidence does seem to be on the rise.”

Other findings in the survey revealed that 41% of workers intend to use more agency employees over the coming quarter, a 2% rise from the previous month. Around 36% intend to use agency employees more over the following four to 12 months – the same statistic as the previous month.
