Monster responds to rising number of mobile job hunters

Filed under: Recruitment General — Mark on July 31, 2013

Monster.co.uk has relaunched the mobile version of its site, designed for an increasing number of job hunters who are using mobile devices when seeking new information security jobs or a whole host of other positions.

Monster conducted research and discovered that 48% use tablets or mobiles to look for jobs and recruiters on the web, while 30% have completed applications for jobs through mobile devices.

The company’s UK and Ireland Marketing Director, Sinead Bunting, said that it is becoming more common to find people living their daily lives through tablets and smartphones, in both their personal and professional life, and that job seeking is very much a part of that mix. She said:

“Around half of today’s candidates are already searching and applying for jobs on the move – and we expect this to grow – so it’s important we support users with a website that’s easy to navigate on mobile browsers, and which provides the same powerful functionality available on the main Monster.co.uk website.”

She went on to say that the tool is great for recruitment consultants as they can access more candidates. It also makes them look better in the eyes of the prospect.

She said that the feedback they have received so far from their native mobile app has been very positive. She reminds us that it is imperative to note that not everybody is obsessed with mobile apps and that many people still opt to visit and browse websites the conventional way. With their new mobile website, they are now able to offer the same tools to more mobile-centric users, whichever preference they may have.
