Job boards to go worldwide

Filed under: Recruitment General — Jonathan on January 16, 2013

For many people seeking risk management jobs and other vacancies, as well as those looking to hire, job boards should be regarded as high on the list. They are successful and popular and, in fact, have been so for more than 10 years. Totaljobs, the mainly UK jobs board, has been sold to StepStone, one of the largest internet job boards in Europe. So it should not be thought of as a surprise that going worldwide is the next step. After a temporary decline in open vacancies as a result of the recession, there is a recovery taking place in the economy and businesses are looking for close to perfect prospects, even if this should mean searching the world over.

The website,, was specifically designed for the worldwide marketplace, as was the Video CV for immediate evaluation. With an integrated arena for the disabled as well as reducing costs after a three month trial, it has evolved into a force. Three months after going live, it can already claim vacancies spanning 56 countries in 42 sectors.

Managing Director Suzie Tobias told On Rec:

“Building such an exciting and innovative site has been mind-blowing. The big surprise was the instant recognition of so many companies and organisations in our first three months. I have to grow the team daily to cope with the public response. I’m not complaining!”

Job boards are claiming that they are receiving high increases in the volume of applications, with some reporting up to 100,000 daily.
