Anywhere Working Consortium support flexible work practices

Filed under: Recruitment General — Jonathan on January 28, 2012

Help is at hand to support businesses in offering flexible work practices by the Anywhere Working Consortium. An online portal has been developed offering advice and resources to help both employees and employers with useful information, training, case studies and offers on a range of products.

For those looking for information security jobs, flexible working practices can be of great interest. With technology advances such as Cloud making mobile working more than just a possibility, many businesses are finding it makes sense to offer more flexible approaches to work. Many cyber security jobs can be carried out at home or remotely.
The announcement of the online portal is the first stage in a campaign to educate businesses on the range of flexible working practices available. The consortium is also promoting the forthcoming Anywhere Working Week when further resources and advice on working smarter will be available to businesses interested in flexible working starting 27th February.

Transport minister Norman Baker supports the initiative and believes it will produce greater productivity, lower stress levels and absenteeism rates as well as reducing our global carbon footprint. Baker commented:

“It’s simply not necessary for us to always trudge to and from meetings when modern technology allows you to circumnavigate the globe virtually from the comfort of your front room, local coffee shop or when you’re on the move. Working flexibly by using video conferences, webinars or cloud computing can help increase productivity as well as employee wellbeing, not to mention dramatically reducing our carbon footprint. This interactive portal can help businesses reap these rewards.”

In the future the traditional working practices are set to face radical change which could benefits those looking for IT security vacancies.
